Armamentarium

A ship's surgeon's armamentarium

ARMAMENTARIUM

Noun. Plural -ia. Late 19th century.
[Latin = arsenal, armoury.]

The medicines, equipment, and techniques available to a medical practitioner.

Thankfully, the armamentarium of the modern doctor and paramedic has come a long way since the bone-sawing days of yore.

  1. Can only say that I too am glad hip replacements have come a long way, though a little bone sawing is still practiced!
