BATTAILOUS
Adjective. Archaism. LME.
[Old French bataillos, -eus, formed as BATTLE noun]
Fond of fighting; ready for battle.
Call of Duty II: Black Ops II was, at the time of its release in 2012, the fastest selling game in history (according to Activision), grossing more than $800 million globally in its first five days after being released. Within 15 days of its release, it had grossed over $1 billion. No other game, film, comic or book matched these sales figures. Humans are a battailous species, and this is keenly reflected in the entertainment we choose.
You've just written off the entire human race as battailous. Not everyone loves fighting, and if you say otherwise, I'll blow your head off! :)
ReplyDeleteHuh, it looks kinda weird with two "T"s and just one "L", being related to the French "bataille" and all.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a video-gaming person. Not that I dislike 'em or anything, I've played some before, but I always get too scared or too excited. They make my heart race so hard I can barely stand the feeling.
It is a weird looking word, isn't it? I had to keep checking I had spelt it right.
DeleteYeah, I wanted to ask you if you were certain that's the right spelling, but I thought that might've been a bit rude. As if you don't check your post a couple hundred times before you publish it. (I imagine that's what everyone does. Please don't tell me I'm the only one...)
Delete*Is paranoid and checks again*
